MAG and friends (Manhood Academy Global) is thrilled to announce online auditions for our upcoming MAG Street Theatre Team project.

What's All This About?
At MAG, we are building a Street Theatre Team with a powerful purpose: to inspire change and spark conversations in the heart of our communities. Through the dynamic art of street theatre, we aim to tackle societal issues such as mental health, youth violence, homelessness, and the importance of community spirit.

Our vision is to create a team of passionate, creative individuals who are not only performers but changemakers—using their talent to leave a lasting impact, energise the streets with positivity, and motivate audiences to take meaningful action.

This initiative isn’t just about performance; it’s about empowerment, growth, and building bridges within our communities, one powerful story at a time.

What is the MAG Street Theatre Team?

The MAG Street Theatre Team is an exciting and transformative 8-week programme designed to empower participants to address key societal issues such as mental health, youth violence, homelessness, and community spirit. Through the engaging medium of street theatre, our team brings vital topics to life, spreading positive energy and delivering performances that inspire audiences to reflect, take action, and create change.

Over the course of 8 weeks, we will:

• Share our vision
• Discuss challenges - Dive into the societal issues we aim to address, grounding our work in empathy and understanding.
• Create impactful plays: Work together to devise and develop a series of powerful short performances designed to connect with diverse audiences.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking dynamic, creative individuals aged 18 to 30, with an urban appearance, reflecting the vibrant, diverse communities we represent. Whether you’re Black, mixed-race, or from any background, what matters most is your energy, authenticity, and commitment to making a difference.

Ideal candidates are:

- Empathetic & Socially Conscious: You understand community challenges and want to address them.

- Dynamic & Creative: Confident, expressive, and eager to engage with audiences.

- Collaborative & Team-Oriented: Ready to work with others to create impactful performances.

- Committed & Reliable: Able to dedicate yourself to training, rehearsals, and live performances. See the dates below. 

What You’ll Gain:

- Professional training in street theatre, leadership, and event management.

- The chance to perform in 5-10 public pop-up events across London.

Our online auditions are your chance to:

- Learn more about the MAG Street Theatre Team and how you can be part of it.

How to Apply:

Step 1 - Attend the online open day (2 dates to choose from. You only need to attend one) 

Step 2 - If you like what you hear, please complete the expression of interest (Will be shared during the event) 

Step 3 - The team will review the expression of interest and invite successful applicants to the first session in May 2025

Tony Cealy is  a highly skilled drama and theatre practitioner, trainer, tutor producer, and workshop facilitator specialising in the development and delivery of a range of innovative arts-based programmes and projects to educate and empower socially excluded people and groups throughout europe and increasingly internationally.
