Alice Sullivan is Professor of Sociology at the University College of London Social Research Institute. Her background is in quantitative analysis of social and educational inequalities. She is an expert on data collection and academic freedom and led the independent Sullivan Review of Data, Statistics and Research on Sex and Gender. This culminated in the publication of two reports, the first on data and statistics and the second on barriers to research. Her book "Sex, Lies and Statistics: Why We Need Evidence-Based Policy on Sex and Gender" will be available in November.
Alice is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FacSS). In 2025, she was shortlisted for the Maddox Prize for standing up for science.
