The Spin-Off Café

Thu 1 Oct 2026 18:45 - 23:00 Bar Oswald, 9000

Thinking about bringing your research to the market? Every semester, Ghent University TechTransfer and Gentrepreneur host The Spin-Off Café: an informal evening connecting researchers with seasoned entrepreneurs who have built their own spin-offs.

The speakers of the night take you through their personal spin-off journeys: the breakthroughs, the setbacks, the surprises, and the valuable lessons that only experience can teach. Come for the insights, leave with the confidence to take your own next steps towards a spin-off. We wrap up the evening with a cosy networking drink.

During this edition, we welcome:

  • Bart Roman from Amalus Therapeutics (spin-off)
  • Senne Bonnaerens from OnTracx (spin-off)
  • Steve Stevens from Heirloom Labs (scale up services)

Spin-off? This is a company that builds on the knowledge and/or technology that a researcher has developed at a higher education institution. As a result, the Spin-Off Café focuses on researchers but interested students and youth are also welcome to join.

This event is in English.
