5th Annual Poker Run Benefit
Sat Jul 20, 2024 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Lake Sinclair
Description
A Poker Run is a giant scavenger hunt to compete for cash prizes while enjoying a fun day on the lake. Players gather at Dennis Station in Putnam County beginning at 9:15 AM to get their maps and instructions. A short briefing with a representative of the Department of Natural Resources follows at 9:45 AM, after which the boats head out. Players follow maps and geo-coordinates to specified locations around the lake where they pick up a playing card sealed in an envelope. Registration is $75, that includes participation in the Poker Run with a cook-out on Goat Island catered by Aubri Lane’s and The Club at Sinclair, plus a waterfront concert by Fall Line Rambler. Additional lunches available by contacting Georgia's Old Capital Heritage Center at The Depot, Inc.
Players will return to Dennis Station between 2:15 and 2:45 PM with their sealed envelopes to reveal their hands. Veteran poker players will be on hand to advise, and each player may buy up to 2 additional playing cards to strengthen their hand. Five card poker rules apply, and the best hand will win a cash prize of $1000, with a second prize of $500. All proceeds support Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center at The Depot, Inc. and the renovation of the CSH train depot for a regional cultural center.
Onsite registration is available on July 20th but will not include lunch. Need more information? Call the Heritage Center Office at (478)453-1803 or email us at thedepotga@gmail.com
