SATURDAY SHAKEDOWN

A little less conversation, a little more dancing please…

Saturday Shakedown is a 2-hour sober dance party created for one simple reason- to give us somewhere to let our hair down, shake off the week, dance our cares away and FEEL FREE.

No booze. No substances. No judgement.

Just good music, good people, movement, connection and a bloody good boogie.

This isn’t a dance class and there are no steps to learn or routines to get right. It’s a space to get out of your head, into your body and let the music take over for a while.

We’ll open together with a little connection and movement to get us out of our minds and into the room, before the dancefloor opens and the Shakedown really begins.

Expect EVERYTHING when it comes to music.

70s disco. 80s cheese. 90s dance. 00s throwbacks. Pop. Rock. Soul. Funk. House. Guilty pleasures. Absolute classics. And probably a few songs nobody saw coming.

There’ll even be a few classic party dances thrown in for an extra jiggle, giggle and nostalgic boogie.

And because my DJ skills are questionable at best…

Everyone attending gets to submit a song for the playlist.

Choose the song you LOVE dancing to. The one that makes you come alive. Your guilty pleasure. Your all-time favourite. Whatever makes your body want to MOVE.

Then we all get to dance to each other’s music.

The dancefloor is yours to explore however feels good.

Dance alone. Dance together. Go wild. Move gently. Shake. Sway. Stomp. Stretch. Sing your heart out.

And when your body says REST, there’ll be a cosy cuddle puddle waiting for you to flop into before you decide where your body wants to take you next.

There’s no right way to Shakedown.

We happen to be gathering beneath a Full Moon, so there’ll be a little lunar magic woven into the evening without turning this into a Full Moon ceremony.

And before we head home, we’ll come together for one giant FULL MOON SHAKE - shaking off whatever we don’t need to carry with us and winding down together before we leave.

Come as a glamorous glitter ball or in your comfys and cosys.

Come with friends or come on your own.

Come if you dance every weekend or haven’t properly danced in years.

You don’t need to know how to dance.

You just need to want to.

It’s the party your body has been craving…
