Geoscience underpins many aspects of the energy mix that fuels our planet and offers a range of solutions for reducing global greenhouse gas emissions as the world progresses towards net zero.

The aim of the Energy Geoscience Conference series is to explore and develop the contribution of geology and geophysics to the low-carbon energy transition. EGC2 will provide a major forum for sharing geoscientific perspectives on energy supply as earth scientists address the subsurface challenges of reshaping the world’s energy system and balancing competing demands in achieving a lower-carbon future.

EGC2 2027 is jointly organised by the Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain (GESGB) and The Geological Society of London (GSL).

Three Days of Energy Geoscience

Taking place over three full days, EGC2 2027 will bring together professionals from industry, academia, government and the wider geoscience community for a substantial programme of technical presentations, poster sessions, discussion, exhibition activity and networking.

Aberdeen has a world-leading role in the energy sector and a strong vision to position itself as a climate-positive city, helping to lead the transition towards net zero. It is therefore a standout UK location for the second edition of the Energy Geoscience Conference series.

EGC2 2027 will be held at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland, the largest event complex in the North of Scotland. The venue offers world-class conference and exhibition facilities and is sustainably powered using local renewable energy sources.

P&J Live is exceptionally well connected for delegates travelling from across the UK and internationally.
