At Samhain, we turn for a time towards those who came before us.

In Communion With Our Ancestors is a three-hour experiential gathering exploring ancestry through breath, embodied movement, voice, ritual and the land.

Together we will gently explore the relationship between the lives that came before us and the life we are living now.

The morning will include:

— Breathwork 
— Ancestral soul movements
— A silent ancestral walk through the Triple Spiral Labyrinth in Killorglin Town Park
— Voice and an introduction to the communal expression of lament & keening
— Time to write a letter to our ancestors as part of the An Féile Eile White Hare ritual
— A closing practice that brings us firmly back towards our own lives and the living world

You do not need to know your family history or ancestry to attend.

You may come carrying the names and stories of people you knew, those whose names have been lost, complicated ancestral relationships, or simply a curiosity about what it means to stand within a lineage of lives that existed before our own.

There will be no requirement to share personal stories or participate in any practice that does not feel right for you.

This is not a full Rebirthing Breathwork session and is not intended as therapy or as a means of recovering ancestral or prenatal memories. All practices will be invitational and held with attention to choice, pacing and personal boundaries.

The White Hare

As part of An Féile Eile, people are invited to write letters to their ancestors and place them within the festival's White Hare effigy.

Time will be given during our gathering to write your own letter before it joins this wider community ritual.
