Our Saturday forest school club for children aged 5–12
Taking place in the beautiful woodland at Woodsworth Exploring in Oakworth, our sessions will be a fun-filled, active play mix of hammocks, swings, den zones, creative nature-based activities and much much more! Summer is such an exciting time in the woods, providing a great opportunity for the children to let their imaginations run wild!
Sessions are for children aged 5–12 and run from 10:00am–1:00pm. Children are encouraged to bring snacks or a packed lunch and plenty to drink. Warm clothing may be required, as we will always aim to be outdoors in nature for the whole session. Full details of meeting place, what to bring etc are in the booking confirmation which will be sent to you via email.
Children with additional needs
We welcome children with additional needs, such as Autism, ADHD, etc. Our practitioners have experience working with children with additional needs, and we find that these children often get a lot from Forest School. However, we need to know in advance if these needs will be present in the session, so that we can endeavour to provide the appropriate level of support.
If your child:
- Can't communicate verbally
- Can't walk and use the toilet independently
- Or often becomes dysregulated and is likely to need 1:1 adult support for longer than 5 minutes
Please let us know in advance, and be prepared for one parent/carer to accompany the child to their first few sessions. We will then work with you towards the goal of your child attending these sessions independently.
