Business Charity Networking Breakfast
Whether we’re working in or running a business, charity, public sector organisation, or social enterprise, networking helps us grow, meet new people, and build something more sustainable.
That said, the prospect of walking into a room full of unfamiliar faces can sometimes feel awkward, stressful, or simply uncomfortable.
So, what can we do to make networking feel less daunting and turn it into something we genuinely enjoy?
This is exactly what we’ll be exploring together at our next event, alongside plenty of opportunities to connect with businesses, charities, social enterprises, and public sector organisations that are looking both to give and receive support.
We’ll spend some time discussing how to make networking a more authentic and meaningful process. Together, we’ll explore ways to communicate with greater confidence, helping us show up as ourselves and feel more comfortable in conversations. We’ll share real experiences of networking, discuss some of the challenges we face, and offer practical tips that you can put into practice straight away—whether you're networking online or face-to-face. And, of course, we’ll do all this while enjoying a relaxed breakfast overlooking the River Cam. Think good coffee, tea, pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola, and plenty of time to connect, network, find help, give help, and enjoy great conversations.
What to expect on the morning
As with all our Business & Charity Networking events, we encourage businesses to attend having considered how they might contribute on a pro bono basis. This could include offering time, skills, knowledge, expertise, funding, volunteering, resources, or other forms of support. We also encourage businesses to take time to understand what communities genuinely need and to consider how they can make a meaningful contribution. At the same time, we invite charities, social enterprises, and public sector organisations to clearly articulate both their needs and what they can offer in return through partnership and collaboration.
Our events are always relaxed and welcoming spaces where people connect through shared values and a desire to make a positive difference—not simply through exchanging business cards. We bring together businesses, charities, social enterprises, and public sector teams so you can meet people you may not otherwise cross paths with and have conversations that lead to meaningful outcomes. No sales pitches. No awkward "let me tell you about my business" moments. Just authentic, purposeful connections that create opportunities for collaboration, community impact, and lasting relationships.
