Write Here, Right Now #11- Writing & Performing Your Own Work- Online Special with Guest facilitator Emma-Louise Howell

Join us for a special online edition of monthly writers meet up Write Here Write Now focussing on mastering the one woman show! Presented in collaboration with I Really Do Think This Will Change Your Life the workshop will use theatre, plays and specifically the one woman show as a case study, but many of the exercises and skills will be transferable for other formats, so we encourage authors, poets and whoever else feels they may find it useful to attend too!

Writing One Person Shows: Integration & Innovation with Emma-Louise Howell

Fresh off a 5 star critically acclaimed run of her one-person show I Really Do Think This Will Change Your Life at Edinburgh Fringe, Writer and Performer Emma-Louise Howell shares insights into her creative process.

Described as 'a one woman show unlike any other' (Broadway World) and nominated for The Stage Innovation Award, Change Your Life has been lauded for its bold theatricality, dark humour and innovative integration of digital language and technology into the script. This interactive and practical workshop will explore how to begin writing one-person shows, how technology can be used as secondary characters and how to balance the Writer/Performer dynamic.

Why do we ask identity questions?

We want to make our events as inclusive as possible and we often get questions from people who for whatever reason say ‘I really want to come but I am nervous, will I be the odd one out?’ Whilst we will always strive to do our best to make everyone feel welcome, it is useful to know a little more about who our audience is for each event so we can be honest in our responses to any queries. It also helps us tailor events for the people attending and identify who we aren’t currently reaching with our work.

This data really helps us, please answer any questions you feel comfortable with. If you do not want to share this information, please leave it blank. More information can be found on our Privacy Policy.
