Join us for the online launch of I Really Do Think This Will Change Your Life, the acclaimed one woman theatre show taking down multi-level marketing, girl boss feminism and get rich schemes lauded as "an innovative new production for the digital generation."

Fresh off the back of a multi-award nominated ★★★★★ run at the Edinburgh Fringe, we're teaming up with the creative team behind this funny, fierce, feminist tour-de-force to host their digital debut. Be the first to see this cinematic digital production, captured live at The Mercury Theatre this September.

We'll gather online to introduce the project, it's themes and inspiration, watch the show and host a short post-screening Q&A.

Whether you're interested in the ways in which capitalism and feminism intersect, solo shows, what young women are up against online, or capturing your theatre work on screen, we'd love to hear your insights!

Belles was the it-Girl, hip girl, oh-so-very-fit-girl.

When she was 17.

Now, she’s 24 and spends her days bossed about by her Mum and girls she 100% used to bully.

So, when a life-changing opportunity slides into her DMs, she carpes the diem, makes her millions and proves the worth of women one social media post at a time.

Except she doesn’t.

Because… come on.

A finalist for The Stage Innovation Award, this is a hair-pulling, fake-nail scratching, cat-fight against get-rich-quick schemes and what it means to be a Girl Boss™. Featuring bold, immersive video design with creative captions and a pioneering approach to accessibility, this fast-paced, multi-disciplined show was a finalist of The Stage Innovation Award 2024.

Prices:

The digital production is subsidised by Arts Council Funding, so both Pay As You Feel (at the bottom) tickets are available (starting at zero) for those who would benefit from them or want to choose their own price as well as our usual (suggested) self-assessed tiered ticketing prices. All ticket funds go back into the project budget and covering Girl Gang's core costs as an unfunded organisation.

More About the Team

EMMA-LOUISE HOWELL (SHE/HER) - Writer & Performer: Emma is an award-winning writer from East Anglia. Her first play PATTERNS won the Michael Ross Award for RADA’s Best New Play and her work has since gone on to be shortlisted for Theatre503’s International Playwriting Prize, Women in Theatre Lab, ITV Original Voices, BBC Writersroom and The Stage Innovation Award. She’s written for stages such as the Pleasance, Leicester Curve, Mercury Theatre, Theatre503, BBC Introducing and Soho Theatre and is developing new work for stage and screen with the support of Attic Theatre Company, New Perspectives and Just Fine Productions.

HETTY HODGSON (SHE/THEY) - Director: Hetty is a director who works collaboratively to tell stories which are both political and playful. She is the Artistic Director of multi-award winning Pigfoot, the Bryan Forbes Emerging Director with the National Youth Theatre REP, and a Supported Artist with ThickSkin Theatre. Excited by new, multidisciplinary and formally exciting work, they have directed shows across the country including HOT IN HERE (Gate Theatre & UK Tour), BOTHERED (a short film commissioned by the Space), How To Save A Rock (English Touring Theatre Trailer Story & Battersea Arts Centre 'Lets Do London'), I Really Do Think This Will Change Your Life (Mercury Theatre, Pleasance @ Edinburgh Fringe), Sharp (LAMDA MishMash), Yes Chef (R&D: Roundhouse/Unity) & A Pervert's Guide to the Internet (R&D: Sheffield Theatres). She's worked with ThickSkin as Associate Director on Peak Stuff (UK tour) & Love Will Tear Us Apart (LIPA).

ERICA BELTON/PIP FILMS- Filmmaker & Director of Digital Version: Pip Films (Performance in Picture) was set up by award winning filmmaker Erica Belton. She works with theatres to create high end marketing content for clients including The Young Vic, New Diorama and Battersea Arts Centre. Pip Films is all about bringing together her passion for working with theatres, actors and making films that matter. After winning the Emerging Filmmaker Award at the London Film Academy, she has gone on to create a wide portfolio of work in film and theatre. Launching Pip Films brings this all under one roof.
