Angst Aerobics #15- Disney Special
Angst Aerobics - An emotional exorcism through exercise- unleash your inner Disney princess (or prince! Or villain!) at our Disney Special!!
Angst Aerobics is alternative exercise for an anxious time! a physical, mental and emotional letting off of steam. Through a mixture of music, performance and improvised dance, we will recreate something that’s part way between boogie-ing in your bedroom, the dancefloor at 3am and a drama workshop in an exercise class setting.
After a long gap, we are returning with a Disney Special! Let's get down to business, to embrace, the hunz!!! Come on you Poor Unfortunate Souls it's time to Let it Go! With Spring upon us, good times are Just Around the Riverbend and we hope you'll feel like it's A Whole New World of opportunity after you let it all out your system and go Zero to Hero at Angst Aerobics! We're so excited to be Part of Your World and gather again to get weird and sweaty together on the dance floor after a long hiatus!
That's right, unlike a "classic" Angst with multi-genre, multi-artist soundtrack, this session we will be blasting100% Disney Bangers and there will be optional karaoke break out sessions within the class. You better believe there will be some High School Musical on the playlist too!!
Join us for optional wine & a whine in the bar downstairs beforehand between 5.30 and 6.30pm to get things off your chest before kicking things off at 6.30pm. We will have a table reserved with the Girl Gang sign beside it.
No routines, but structured movement to follow along, as well as plenty of opportunity for free form dance alongs too. Think Jane Fonda via Rainbow Rhythms with Broadway aspirations! This is a camp, heightened, theatrical interactive class grants permission for people to be as daft and uncool as they feel, in a bid to expel anxiety and tension from the body. It's gonna be full cardio- stretches and silliness, running round the room, pretending to be a ballerina, crawling across the floor and singing with your eyes closed- let's get it all off our chests together!
Over the course of an hour class, we will emote, sing, lip sync and laugh to a variety of songs, from power ballads to pop hits.
Mixing genres and playing things you would never normally hear during a workout, but that’s great to move and feel big feelings to! Singing along is definitely encouraged! Listen to a sample Angst Aerobics Playlist here.
We are excited to be at YES Bar's super cute pink room for this session! Spread the word!!

Why do we ask identity questions?
We want to make our events as inclusive as possible and we often get questions from people who for whatever reason say ‘I really want to come but I am nervous, will I be the odd one out?’ Whilst we will always strive to do our best to make everyone feel welcome, it is useful to know a little more about who our audience is for each event so we can be honest in our responses to any queries. It also helps us tailor events for the people attending and identify who we aren’t currently reaching with our work.
