Shake It Off #20- Pop Music Video Inspired Dance Class  

APRIL THEME: LADY GAGA!

Dance classes can be so intimidating, right? 

They’re too fast and everyone is a Beyonce backup dancer on a day off…not this class! In this class we will celebrate our unco-ordinated attempts to learn the moves to ‘that’ routine you’ve always wanted to know and feel no shame doing our cheesy dance moves. The choreography will be taught in an easy-to-follow style that will celebrate what your body can do!

We’ll do a warm up, learn one routine inspired by music videos to a bunch of amazing songs - Chloe will probs throw in some awkward, funny-ish jokes along the way - and then you’ll leave feeling like you can take over the world!

Whether you did dance as a kid or you’ve avoided dance classes on account of being 300% clumsy (you’re not alone!) this class is your safe space to learn routines inspired by your favourite music videos. Fun, a bit sweaty and a good time!

Comfy clothes to shake it out in and a water bottle recommended.

Shake It Off is hosted by the wonderful Chloe Senior of @kineticdancewellbeing, a professionally trained dancer, living in Stockport!

We do self assessed tiered ticketing to try and make our events as accessible as possible whilst still paying facilitators, producers & promoters- quite hard to do! Please use honestly to support us in making our work sustainable <3

Refund policy: Paying for a ticket funds freelance artists, creatives and facilitators and helps support Girl Gang Manchester in continuing to run events. All tickets are non refundable and non transferable.

Accessibility information:

• The Pink Room at YES is fully wheelchair accessible, with lift access and a disabled toilet.

• YES is situated in the city centre, 7 minutes walk away from Picadilly station and 5 minute walk from trams and buses atPicadilly Gardens.

• The room will be well lit with overhead lighting. There will be loud music played through a speaker at points during the session as we learn and practice the routine.

• We won’t be using strobe lighting for this event.

• Plenty of seating will be available throughout the event.

• We happily offer free tickets for personal access assistants, please email us at girlgangmanchester@gmail.com to arrange this.

• Specific COVID guidance can be found below.

• A Girl Gang Manchester team member will greet you as you enter the event space and will be available as a point of contact throughout the event if you require anything.

Why do we ask identity questions?

We want to make our events as inclusive as possible and we often get questions from people who for whatever reason say ‘I really want to come but I am nervous, will I be the odd one out?’ Whilst we will always strive to do our best to make everyone feel welcome, it is useful to know a little more about who our audience is for each event so we can be honest in our responses to any queries. It also helps us tailor events for the people attending and identify who we aren’t currently reaching with our work.
