New in town? Born and bred? Mad about Manchester? Not quite sold yet?
If you want to find out more about our city, reconnecting yourself to the place and the people in it, join us for our partnership with Manchester Walking Tours, Manchester's best reviewed tour running for nearly 10 years!
Combining two passions (and jobs), our Megan wants to tell you all about our iconic, historic and culturally influential city, and why we should all be absolutely buzzing to be here!
Covering history, politics, pop culture and prominent figures, the tour includes the must-see attractions as well as our secret quirks. With musical scoring, conversation starters, beverages to sample, fun facts and lots of photo opportunities, by the end of the tour you're going to have a 2000 year history of the city- where it's come from, where it's at, where it's going and how to make the most of your time here.
As we're a private tour and have a love of bringing people together and converting strangers into new friendships, we'll start each section with some quick warm ups and overviews to see who's in the group and get everyone connected so that new buddies can bloom between stops and people feel just as warmly welcomed if they come with a group or alone.
Please note, the tour will still run if it's rainy, bring a brolly!!
5 5 Star Reviews to win you over!
5 Stars: "Storytelling shares happiness. An amazing tour! Megan was our expert guide, and when I say expert, I actually mean funny, poetic, passionate and authentically Mancunian in every sense (despite it being her adopted town). Not your typical walking sightseeing/highlights tour. This instead meanders you through far more of Manchester's spirit and intellect than mere geography, and the three hours somehow fly by."
5 Stars: "What a tour! I can simply say what I said to Megan at the end of our tour: "this was the best walking tour I've ever had", and I mean it! So many interesting stories about the history and culture of Manchester that will blow your mind. A more than 3 hours tour that taught me so much and extremely enriched my knowledge, but most of all was fun. Megan gives all she's got)(and she's got a lot!) and it was just incredible. Go go go!!!"
5 Stars: "So I thought I knew a lot about Manchester’s cultural history before joining this tour, but in the short space of three hours our tour guide Megan blew that idea totally out of the water! Speaking of water, we got a lot of it coming down from the heavens onto our heads... Despite the rain gods being against us on this occasion, Megan kept the whole tour spellbound with her storytelling. Our whole group stuck it out to the end by making the most of our brollies and bits of shelter at various stops. There was so much to learn, that really I think there must have been more than a hundred interesting facts about Manchester."
5 Stars: "I fell in love with Manchester, thanks to Megan. Her walking tour was hands-down the best one I've done, ever, anywhere. Her stories were captivating and funny, her delivery and punchlines flawless. She led us through two millennia of history, politics, culture, music, and architecture, and could speak knowingly about just about any topic - from the daily / nighly grind of 19th century millworkers and late 20th century rave-goers, to the geopolitics of the slave trade, immigration and capital movements. The only topic she didn't touch on was football."
5 Stars: "Brilliant experience. Megan was an awesome guide. Entertaining and informative. Highly recommend. Fascinating historical, social and cultural perspectives delivered in a disarming manner. Thoroughly enjoyable despite the typical Manchester weather. I was not put off or even distracted by the need to alternate between sunglasses and torrential rain wear. Megan found ways to overcome every challenge."
Megan is a proud, articulate, humble, talented Mancunian. I'm deeply grateful that she shared her passion for and deep knowledge about Manchester with us. Hats off!
