March's theme: chosen by YOU - Lady Gaga!

A 1 hour dance class inspired by your favourite pop music videos. You'll not only learn *that* routine you've been wanting to know since the 90s, you'll also:

• get sweaty without realising it
• let go of your dance inhibitions
• meet people who love pop music as much as you do
• get abs from laughing so hard (ok, this one's anecdotal...)

All levels of experience are welcome! The choreography will be taught in an easy-to-follow style that will celebrate what your body can do!

We can assure you that for the 1 hour you're with us, you'll be the sparkly superstar/diva/professional-backup-dancer you deserve to be. No mirrors and nobody watching you - just a supportive environment and the chance to have a laugh.

Shake It Off is hosted by the wonderful Chloe Senior of @kineticdancewellbeing, a professionally trained dancer, living in Stockport!

We do self assessed tiered ticketing to try and make our events as accessible as possible whilst still paying facilitators, producers & promoters- quite hard to do! Please use honestly to support us in making our work sustainable <3

Refund policy: Paying for a ticket funds freelance artists, creatives and facilitators and helps support Girl Gang Manchester in continuing to run events. All tickets are non refundable and non transferable.

Girl Gang Manchester’s events aim to be as inclusive as possible. This event is open to people of all genders, ages, races, sexualities, classes,and abilities. All are welcome, please see specific access information below.

Accessibility information:

• Whitworth Locke has wheelchair access to the lower ground floor via the elevator in the Johnson Building, a disabled toilet, as well as a mechanical ramp for the entrance to the Storehouse itself.

• Whitworth Locke is in the city centre, 7 minutes walk to Piccadilly Station, 9 minute walk from trams at Piccadilly Gardens, there is also access to other local bus links nearby on Portland Street (4 minute walk).

• The room will be well lit with overhead lighting. There will be loud music played through a speaker at points during the session as we learn and practice the routine.

• We won’t be using strobe lighting for this event.

• All gender toilets are provided.

• Plenty of seating will be available throughout the event.

• Specific COVID guidance can be found below.

• A Girl Gang Manchester team member will greet you as you enter the event space and will be available as a point of contact throughout the event if you require anything.

COVID-19 Guidance:

Though we no longer have any specific COVID-19 guidelines in place at our events, it is our expectation that you as a member of our community exercise personal responsibility in that you do not attend if you knowingly have COVID or any other contagious disease, or if you have knowingly had contact with a positive case.

Why do we ask identity questions?

We want to make our events as inclusive as possible and we often get questions from people who for whatever reason say ‘I really want to come but I am nervous, will I be the odd one out?’ Whilst we will always strive to do our best to make everyone feel welcome, it is useful to know a little more about who our audience is for each event so we can be honest in our responses to any queries. It also helps us tailor events for the people attending and identify who we aren’t currently reaching with our work.
