The Campaigning and Community Organizing for Girls Webinar introduces girls to the effective ways to campaign for candidates/ballot initiatives and the fundamentals of effective community organizing. The class starts an overview of the electoral process including election timelines, field operations and campaign volunteering. Students will also learn how to positively and effectively utilize social media to support the candidates/ballot initiatives they support during an election. The Community Organizing module of the class begins with defining community organizing and how it can be used as an effective tool for change. Students then learn how to craft messaging that has impact, build a base of support, develop leadership teams, form coalitions with community partners and plan events. Looking for more events? Is the registration fee refundable? The registration fee is non-refundable unless the organizer cancels the session. If a participant is unable to attend a webinar a credit will be placed on file that may be used at any time for a future program. The credit does not expire.
Is this a partisan program or supported by a political party? No, the Girls in Politics Initiative is an independent organization that is self-funded through the fees generated from hosting sessions. The curriculum is civic education.
Who are the instructors? Our Lead Instructors are women that currently or have previously worked in government or electoral politics.
