Revolutionary women’s safety app, Epowar, has teamed up with Girls Who Walk MCR, the viral women’s walking and social group, to host a one-of-a-kind event.
Women and girls should be able to step outside with confidence any and every time they want. But with dark nights drawing in, women often feel restricted, significantly changing their usual routines to protect their safety.
By simply being on the street together as a large group of girls who just want to walk, we’re sending a simple but clear message: girls should belong wherever they want to be.
The walk will last for around an hour, starting in Chinatown and ending at North Taproom, Circle Square. There is the option to purchase a drink before and after the walk, and we would love you to stay and hang out with us at North Taproom. Epowar will be hosting a stall to give out exciting Freebies and answer your questions, so make sure to come and say hi!
Getting to and from the event safely:
We’ll be meeting in a well-lit location, but it’s important you are safe when travelling to and from the event! Always make sure someone knows where you are, share your location and have a charged phone!
If you have an Apple Watch, share your Journeys with Epowar - the safety app that automatically detects and responds if something happens to you, alerting your emergency contacts and storing evidence.
See you there!
