Who is Speaking?

🎤 Chaloner Chute, Chief Technology Officer at Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI)

Chaloner Chute is Chief Technology Officer at the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre, where he leads technical strategy and supports the delivery of digital innovation across Scotland. He brings experience from digital innovation, public policy and healthcare service delivery, and has helped design and roll out digital health and care services now used at scale across Scotland.

He is passionate about empowering citizens to take an active role in their own wellbeing and about using technology to support more personalised, preventative and accessible health and care.


🎤  Dr Dave Hughes, Founder, Halya | Digital Health Entrepreneur

Dr Dave Hughes is the founder of Halya, a digital health company that combines wearable data, workplace context and AI to help people understand how their daily habits and working lives affect focus, energy and performance.

Previously, Dave led the development and commercialisation of the world’s first wearable ultrasound platform, helping bring advanced health monitoring closer to everyday life. An award winning physicist and deep tech entrepreneur, he has been recognised with honours including WeDO Scotland Rising Star, IoD Scotland Director of the Year for Start Ups, and the Institute of Physics Business Start Up Award.


🎤 Yola Jones, Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer, Seluna 

Yola Jones is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Seluna, a Glasgow-based MedTech company developing AI-powered diagnostics for childhood sleep disorders and other health conditions. Working with hospitals and clinicians across the UK and United States, Seluna is building advanced data analytics tools and clinical diagnostic platforms designed to support earlier diagnosis and improve patient outcomes. 

Prior to founding Seluna, Yola worked within the NHS, where she applied data science and artificial intelligence techniques to healthcare challenges. She holds an MSc in Software Engineering, an MEng in Robotics, Autonomous and Interactive Systems, and a PhD in Precision Medicine from the University of Glasgow. Her work has already attracted significant recognition, with Seluna named Scottish Graduate StartUp of the Year and Yola receiving a Women in Innovation Award for her contribution to advancing AI-powered healthcare technologies.
