Weaving Workshop

A cute, creative evening of colour, texture and slow making. Join us for a beginner-friendly weaving workshop with Ellietype, where you’ll learn how to create your very own textured woven wall hanging using scrap fabric, yarn and ribbon. 

This is a hands-on workshop designed to help you slow down, switch off and enjoy the process of making something from scratch - while yapping and connecting with other women in the room. As with all our events, the activity is there to give everyone something easy and natural to bond over, so you’re not just coming to make something lovely, you’re coming to meet other gals too.

You’ll learn simple weaving techniques using looms made from recycled wooden picture frames and string — a DIY method that’s easy to recreate at home without needing expensive equipment.

You’ll get to rummage through a selection of fabrics, yarns and ribbons to choose your own colour palette, textures and style, before creating a finished woven piece to take home with you.

No experience is needed at all. This workshop is relaxed, inclusive and suitable for all skill levels, whether you’re already creative or just fancy trying something new in a welcoming space.

Come solo, or come with a friend, and spend the evening weaving, chatting and making something lovely alongside other ladies who are also there to connect.

Meet your facilitator: Ellietype

This workshop will be led by Ellie, a Glasgow-based creative known for colourful, playful and personality-filled design. Ellie’s workshops are all about making creativity feel accessible, relaxed and fun. You don’t need to be “arty” or have any previous experience, she’ll guide you through the process step by step, helping you experiment with colour, texture and simple techniques to create something completely your own.

Expect a warm, welcoming workshop with lots of creative freedom, plenty of lovely materials to rummage through, and a finished piece you’ll be proud to take home!!
