The name of the group shall be GLEADLESS VALLEY CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK or Gleadless Valley CAN or GV CAN  (comprises the Gleadless Valley Ward, Meersbrook, Heeley, Norton Lees, Hemsworth)

2. Aims

• To raise public awareness locally about the urgency of the global climate and nature emergency and the values and principles of this group.*
• To publicise local projects and initiate actions that help to counter these emergencies.
• To facilitate a local network of people and organisations that would like to participate in or be kept informed or are already carrying out climate action initiatives.
• To initiate and publicise local projects and actions that protect, complement and enhance Gleadless Valley ward’s environment to ensure that it is a healthy place to live.
• To be a living resource of knowledge, assets and skills within the ward.
