COLD IN BERLIN
London doom-goths Cold in Berlin return to Nottingham for the first time since 2017.
Formed in London in 2010, Cold in Berlin write dark post-punk songs underpinned by fuzzy doom guitars. Their self-released debut album ‘Give Me Wall’s was an Artrocker magazine album of the year, while Loud and Quiet and Q couldn’t decide whether vocalist Maya was the new Patti Smith or Siouxsie Sioux.
As the bands’ sound became heavier and darker, Universal Records subsidiary Candlelight came knocking and released albums two and three – ‘And Yet’ (2012) and ‘The Comfort of Loss and Dust’ (2015) – to critical acclaim from from influential publications including Metal Hammer, which saw the album ‘The Comfort…’ make the German edition’s top five albums of the year list.
Cold in Berlin have become become stalwarts of the alternative live scene, gracing major festival stages across Europe and recently appearing in the Terror and Wonder exhibition at the British Library.'Mesmerising' – Metal Hammer
'A dark whirlpool of noise' Mojo Magazine
'Translators for our imploding society – *****' ArtRocker

INWARD STRANGE
Nottingham based Inward Strange are a fairy, an alien spider, and a death god, that came together to form a group of supernatural misfits. Falling to earth on the gloomy night of Halloween during The Great Apocalypse, these odd creatures arose from its ashes to form a Grunge Pop band by day, and to fight evil by night, saving humanity from the shadow spirits that emerged from the underworld. With an eclectic mix of fuzzy guitars, synth, piano and violin over electronic beats, Inward Strange blend multiple genres into a unique and distinctive sound. With catchy hooks and melodies, driving bass lines and big singalong choruses, the band offer a danceable and multi-textured sound. Sometimes fun and uplifting, but sometimes sorrowful and sinister. Beautiful but scorned. Cheerful but dark. Outwardly normal but inwardly strange.
