Global Clubfoot Training Level 2: Advanced Clubfoot Management

The training includes: refresher and advanced Ponseti for Idiopathic clubfoot, common errors in clubfoot management, recognition and treatment of atypical clubfoot, recurrent clubfoot, treating older children, secondary clubfoot, parent education and support and clinic quality monitoring and improvement. Practical sessions generally include refresher manipulation and casting (idiopathic clubfoot), modified manipulation and casting for atypical clubfoot and treatment demonstrations with patients where possible.

Course faculty are very experienced trainers, highly skilled and with many years' experience of treating children with clubfoot.

Trainer: trainee ratio for practical sessions 1:6

This course is in a 2 day face to face format with interactive online exercises that must be completed before and after the training. Both the online pre-course activities and face to face learning parts are essential in order to complete the course.

Level 2 (Advanced)

Course Objectives

Intended participants

• To refresh understanding and skills in basic Ponseti treatment, and to add advanced knowledge to these

• To develop understanding and skills in non-surgical management of challenging cases such as atypical, recurrent, neglected, and secondary clubfoot

• To facilitate exchange of knowledge through case discussion of challenging cases

• To establish a common approach to measuring and improving quality of care in clinics, to encourage reflection on what is (and isn’t) working well in own practice / clinic setting, and to identify priority actions

• Have attended a Basic Clubfoot Treatment Provider Training Course (or equivalent)

• Have treated at least 20 cases of clubfoot

• Have been working as a clubfoot practitioner for at least 6 months, and have received mentoring/supervision in this time

Course content includes: advanced Ponseti for Idiopathic clubfoot, common errors in clubfoot management, recognition and treatment of atypical clubfoot, recurrent clubfoot, secondary clubfoot and parent education and support.

Fee includes online learning and practical training days, course manual, participation certificate, sandwich lunch and refreshments. Accommodation and travel are not included.

This course is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England for 12 CPD points.

The 25% discount is applicable only to the delegate attending the Level 2 Training course and cannot be transferred to another individual. Discounts will not be applied retrospectively to tickets purchased during the MICC ‘Early Bird’ promotion. Delegates who have purchased a full-price MICC ticket and subsequently register for the Level 2 Training course on or before 15th May 2025 will be eligible for either:

  • a refund of the difference, or

  • the option to rebook at the discounted rate, subject to availability.

Cancellation Policy

We understand as well that there may be circumstances that mean you might not be able to attend the training and need to cancel your attendance on the course. In this case, it would be helpful to us if you would allow your fee to be carried over to a future training, as we are a charity, but we understand that might not always be possible. If a transfer is not possible, we will be able to refund 100% of the fees if advised 42 days prior to training, 50% of the fees if advised 28 days prior to training. Anything cancellation made less than 4 weeks to the start of the training will not be refunded.
