Theatre Translation Networks in Building Acts of Worldmaking is a one-day discussion forum aimed at theatre translation practitioners and researchers. Taking place on Tuesday 14 July, and timed to coincide with the opening day of the Out of the Wings Festival (14 – 18 July 2026), the Forum will set the scene for a week of play readings from Latin America, Portugal, and Spain, presented in English translation every evening at Omnibus Theatre.
At the Forum, we will bring together practitioners and researchers — actors, directors, producers, literary managers, commissioning editors, dramaturges, writers, translators, research students, theatre translation trainers, theatre translation lecturers, and academics — to engage with ideas on how we create international networks around the collective work of theatre translation. What happens in the often-conflictive spaces we create to transcend, for example, boundaries between language, cultural and geopolitical contexts?
The full programme will be shared by the middle of June.
The event is free, but booking is essential.
