Celebrating the Story Garden: The Next Chapter

Drink, eat and be merry for a good cause - Celebrating the Story Garden: The Next Chapter is the final hurrah and fundraiser for the garden that will be held at the Somers Town location. 

For the past 6 years, Global Generation has been growing food and community from the site on Ossulston Street. The Story Garden was made by a thousand hands, involving school children, young people, residents and employees in the build and planting. Now that it is time to move on to our permanent garden space on York Street, we want to celebrate the incredible things we have achieved together while looking forward to the next phase of growing, carpentry, cooking, eating and connecting.

Please join us for an amazing evening Tuesday 23 September, 6 - 9 p.m. at The Story Garden in support of Global Generation. Come enjoy an evening of drinks, food, music, performances, creative activities, a live raffle and more, all while supporting the charity. 

What to expect:

This will be a cocktail party style event - a rare opportunity to explore the Story Garden at dusk. Your ticket includes:

• A delicious menu prepared by Chaneti Eats and her team of talented community chefs. She has carved out a niche for herself cooking delicious Afro-Caribbean plant-forward menus and catering for musicians and artists like Nubya Garcia, Kokoroko, and more. Enjoy a selection of canapes and a buffet of her delicious food.
  
• A welcome botanical cocktail followed by a selection of wine, beer and soft drinks will be available all evening. 
• Performances & live music by our young people as well as an outdoor photo and art exhibition of some of the amazing creative outputs we have created in the past six years

Tickets

• £50 gets you an individual ticket, drinks throughout the evening, food, performances and music and the chance to participate in our on-the-night raffle.

• Raffle tickets can also be bought in advance, 1 for £20 and 2 for £30. Winners will be contacted after the event if they are unable to attend.

Raffle Prizes
On the evening we will host a live raffle - the full list of prizes will be announced on the evening but they include vouchers & hampers from businesses and experiences or tickets to attractions and events, like passes to Community Sauna Baths, small batch Story Garden Sloe Gin or a year long membership to the British Library! 

Each year we reach 5000 young people through our programmes and another 5000 benefit from accessing our events and spaces.

Your support matters!

For twenty years Global Generation has been changing the local landscape by working with young people, local residents, developers and businesses to create new temporary green spaces for all to enjoy. From the rooftop and school gardens to the plants in skips, your donations enable thousands of people each year to access and connect with nature in the heart of the city. We support young people to see how they can change their local area and the planet as a whole and truly make a difference. This event is a key fundraiser for the charity and the creation of our new permanent educational garden in Kings Cross, located on the Triangle Site off York Way. Unable to make it? About the Space and Accessibility

The Story Garden is an active community garden and growing space. The event will take place under cover with heaters in case of poor weather. While we maintain the paths so that mobility devices can access the space, there are uneven and slippery surfaces throughout, so please take care.  There is an accessible toilet located within the garden. Please speak to the team if you have specific accessibility needs.

These tickets are refundable up to 30 days before the event, after which they will be non-refundable.

About Global Generation:

Global Generation is an environmental education charity with garden sites located throughout London. We offer activities such as urban food growing, supporting bees, carpentry, cooking, storytelling, creative writing, performance and more. We aim to create the conditions for people to come together, connect with themselves, others and their local area and to practically and creatively contribute to ecological and social change. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale, and we encourage those who can, to pay it forward.
