The fossil fuel industry is stealing our future and making record profits while they’re doing it. It’s time to stop them. Activists and governments from some of the most climate vulnerable countries are spearheading the demand for a Fossil Fuel Treaty: a global exit plan to end the era of oil, coal and gas. This is a fight for the future and for the transition to clean, green energy that leaves no worker, community or country behind.
On Thursday 24 October Global Justice Now and Parents for Future are hosting renowned Filipina youth climate justice activist Mitzi Jonelle Tan in Dundee for a discussion about how we can challenge plans for damaging new fossil fuel projects around the world and how a Fossil Fuel Treaty could help us win a globally just transition.
Mitzi will be joined by a panel of speakers to consider how we can campaign locally to build the international movement to transition from toxic fossil fuels and plan for a greener, cleaner future. The speaker panel will include:
- Mitzi Jonelle Tan, Filipina youth climate justice activists
- Rosie Hampton, Just Transition campaigner for Friends of the Earth Scotland
- Claire Larkin, Director of Parents for Future Scotland
The event will be chaired by Liz Murray, Head of Scottish Campaigns at Global Justice Now
