According to tradition the Buddha was enlightened on 8th December and this was thus the beginning of the Buddha Dharma, which is the supreme medicine for the woes of the world. This year, auspiciously, the 8th December is also Full Moon Day. During this four day gathering we shall have presentations on Dharma Practice, Dharma Psychology and Engaged Buddhism as well as meditation and chanting practice, Dharma talks and periods for sharing and discussion. The Buddha told us how to transform affliction (dukkha) into the path of heartfulness. This will, therefore, be a time for sharing, healing, experiencing the warmth of the sangha and celebrating the presence of the Dharma in our lives and in our troubled world.
