Interested in working as a guardian (dungeon monitor) at a Gloss Event*, or any other play event? This training is for you! And just in time for busy/spooky season!
The Universal Guardian Training: an overview of the guardian role, being survivor-focused, bystander best practices, nonviolent communication, de-escalation of angry people, harm reduction, a role play, providing crisis support to people who report, grounding, another role play, responding to people who aren't following behavioral guidelines, and understanding transformative justice.
Rebecca-Emma Kaplan, LMSW (she/her/hers) is a social worker who also has 10 years of experience producing and co-producing play spaces with a focus on kink parties. Last year she put out a survey about how play spaces can be improved -- and a lot of what she found has driven this initiative.
Emma Kaywin (they/them/theirs) is a trauma and safety educator, activist, and researcher who has developed trauma-informed policies and procedures for many nightlife spaces and teaches consent and safety for playspaces.
* Mandatory for anyone wishing to volunteer as a guardian at a Gloss event.
