Bob will host a Woodworking Fundamentals meeting about hand planes at his Barn in Northwood on Saturday February 4th.
Care, tuning, and use of some of the near infinite types of hand planes will be the topic of the day.
Most of us are primarily aware of bench planes as they form the largest category. Sizing, jointing, and smoothing are the operations these planes are used most for, as they were originally used in the absence of todays electric powered jointers and planers.
There are an extraordinary number of specialty planes for tasks from cutting and fitting joinery, decoration and shaping, all the way to single purpose planes like a rounding tool to cut round tenons.
And while Bob doesn’t have every plane in the world, he has more than enough to keep us busy for a morning.
We hope to see you at the Barn on Saturday February 4th, thanks in advance for coming out.
