General Meeting on June 10

 If you appreciate having razor sharp tools in your shop [and who doesn’t?] then you will not want to miss the June 10^thGeneral Meeting. The topic is sharpening, and honing your skills [pun intended] is what this meeting is all about. We are having four presentations, covering a variety of tools and techniques, by Guild members:

• Lou Yelgin - Diamond stones and abrasives - sharpening by hand and with jigs and guides
• Jon Siegel - Sharpening with abrasive belts
• Steve Costain - Sharpening classic hand tools - plus not so classic chain saw blades
• Mike DiMaggio - Wet sharpening with a Tormek

Following the demonstrations, there will be panel, where we can discuss the pros and cons of the techniques, answer your questions, and later, try out your hand in sharpening one of your tools under the tutelage of one of our experts.

So, bring a brown bag lunch, a chair, and a tool you would like to sharpen, trying a new technique.

Agenda;

• 9 am – meet and greet - -coffee and pastries

• 9:15 – short business meeting

• 9:45 to noon – demos – about 30-35 minutes each
• Quick break to get lunch, then a panel discussion with the four presenters to field questions, pros and cons of each method, etc.
• Time for members to try out a technique, using their own tools, under the guidance of the demonstrators
• Adjourn around 2 or 3 pm
