Breathletics Workshop

Go Brewing Taproom, 60540
Description
A Breathletics class has been called "a month's therapy in one hour", "meditation for people who can't meditate" and going "from chaos to calm". During this workshop, you will learn how to do two-part conscious-connected breathwork, and then put that breathwork to a drumbeat for almost 30 minutes.
When are putting your breath to the music, you CAN'T think of anything else - you are in the "flow" state. Also, this type of breathwork shuts down your frontal lobe - that's where your ego and your inner critic lives. When that is shut down, your subconscious comes out. This is where significant shifts have been proven to occur.
This has been proven to help with anxiety, depression, and PTSD, as well as sleep and overall mood and outlook.
Workshop tickets include one free NA to enjoy after class.
FAQs:
What are the physical effects you feel during a Breathletics class?
You will get tingling in parts of your body, which is totally normal. This is the body getting used to lower oxygen levels. You might experience what’s called “tetany”, which is otherwise known as “claw hands”. Your body is getting used to the lower levels of CO2, which might cause your hands to go into a “claw-like“ form. It is completely normal and will subside when your breathing gets back to normal. You might feel cold as well- again, completely normal.
Should I be nervous?
You can do the breathwork at your own pace- whatever is comfortable for you. If you are feeling overwhelmed during class, just breath normal, and you will be feeling fine within moments. I ask that people who are experiencing a Breathletics class come in with an open mind, an open heart and open to the possibility of a big shift.
How long is the actual Breathwork class?
It is around an hour , with 15 minutes left at the end for everyone to come all the way back from their experience. You will start by warming up the diaphragm with specific breathwork, then you will begin the conscious-connected Breathwork foe between 27-32 minutes. Then you will breathe normal for the final 15-20 minutes, finishing with diaphragmatic stretches at the very end.
Can everyone participate in class?
You should not be doing breathwork if you are pregnant or have cardiovascular disease. Also, please do not take a Breathletics class before you see your physician if you have any of the following:
- High Blood Pressure
- Prescription Blood Thinning/Anti-Clotting Meds (such as Coumadin)
- History of Seizures
- Bipolar Disorder / Psychiatric Illness
- Severe Asthma
- Medicated Anxiety
- Glaucoma or Detached Retina
- Low blood sugar levels/Diabetes
Special Notes: Some people become very cold during a Breathletics class….Be sure and bring a sweatshirt or jacket to put over you in case you start to feel cold during class. You will also need to cover your eyes during the class - we provide towels, but if you’d rather bring your own eye cover or bandana, feel free to do so. If you have medicated asthma, bring your inhaler.
ABOUT GO BREWING:
Established in 2021 (launched the taproom in 2023), Go Brewing is a pioneering brewery with a mission to bridge the gap between enjoyment and well-being. Recognizing the universal appeal of grabbing a beer with friends, Go Brewing offers an alternative that prioritizes both taste and health. They've meticulously crafted a lineup of beers that are lower in alcohol and calories, allowing enthusiasts to enjoy their brews without the typical next-day regrets.
The founders' personal journey reflects a struggle many face. Initially using alcohol as a means of coping during the pandemic, they soon realized the toll it was taking on their health. Their foray into non-alcoholic beer was a solution, and recognizing a gap in the market, they launched Go Brewing. Their goal? To offer beers that satisfied cravings and aligned with a lifestyle focused on fitness and wellness.
Now, Go Brewing is more than just a brewery. Their taproom in Chicagoland is a hub for those seeking great brews, live music, food trucks, and enlightening workshops. Whether you're someone who's always seen alcohol as "just one of those things" or you're seeking alternatives for a healthier lifestyle, Go Brewing provides a delightful, guilt-free experience.
In essence, Go Brewing champions the message: All experience, no sacrifice.
