St Wite's Festival: Pilgrimage and Celebration Service DAY TICKET

St Wite is Dorset's Patron Saint and her Holy Shrine is embedded in the north wall of St Candida and the Holy Cross Church in Whitchchurch Canonicorum. It has been a site of pilgrimage for over 1,000 years.  To celebrate her Saint's Day on the 1st June, which is also Dorset Day the church that is home to her Shrine is holding a special Celebration Service at 6pm on Sunday 31st May - all are welcome especially the band of merry pilgrims and special guests who will walk from St Mary's, Bridport through Hell (Lane) to join us. 

If you would like to join this iconic pilgrimage, please book in as we need to know numbers. Spaces are limited. We would appreciate a donation, we are suggesting £20 per pilgrim, to help cover costs. Thank you so much!

We will be praying for good weather however, please come prepared for rain, mud and rough terrain especially as we navigate the deep ancient hollow ways along the way. The meeting place is St Mary's Bridport 1.00pm and we will finish at St Candida in Whitchurch Canonicorum around 7.30pm after the Celebration Service. There will be refreshments along the walk as there will be at least one stop at a pub,  light refreshments will be provided when you arrive in Whitchurch and there will be refreshments after the Celebration Service.  Please note, that you are responsible for your transport to and from Bridport and Whitchurch at the beginning or the end,  if you need advice, please ask@stwitesway.org.
