The Ancestral Drum

Dorrie Joy is returning to The Hive this autumn. In line with the time of Samhain we will be diving into Ancestral wisdom and Ceremony

This is a Ceremonial Journey we nourish the heart of community and the soul of our belonging.

Making offerings of honouring through the arc of time to bless all life that came before us and all that will come

after us, as we become guardians, lanterns and ancestors.

Tending our grief and praise, braiding song lines and drum rhythms with poems and cedar.

Dorrie Joy lives & works as a prolific multi-disciplinary Artist. She teaches ancestral skills & traditional crafts.

She is also a herbalist, poet, writer, international speaker & ceremonial leader.

As a painter, she is largely self taught. Her formal studies are in Literature & Ceramics.

For almost 30 years she has been initiated by & trained intimately with Indigenous women & Elders in many areas of ancient craft & ceremony.

Her paintings are held in private collections & public displays & her ceremonial craft is carried & respected globally.

She has travelled widely and lives in South West UK.

A Mother of three & a Grandmother of two, her work is informed by her passion for sustainability, rooted in connection & reciprocity.
