Dorrie Joy returns to The Hive this autumn and will be offering this space to create medicine bags.
We will spend time in song as we prepare the freshly harvested cedar before creating a beautiful medicine bag from locally sourced buckskin, decorated with antler.
Dorrie Joy lives & works as a prolific multi-disciplinary Artist. She teaches ancestral skills & traditional crafts. She is also a herbalist, poet, writer, international speaker & ceremonial leader.
As a painter, she is largely self taught. Her formal studies are in Literature & Ceramics.
For almost 30 years she has been initiated by & trained intimately with Indigenous women & Elders in many areas of ancient craft & ceremony.
Her paintings are held in private collections & public displays & her ceremonial craft is carried & respected globally.
She has travelled widely and lives in South West UK.
A Mother of three & a Grandmother of two, her work is informed by her passion for sustainability, rooted in connection & reciprocity.

Park on Alverton road or at The Pirate Inn *** there is no parking on Ivy Lane.
Walk down Ivy lane and you will see three terraced houses on the left and then a high hedge and the next driveway is the entrance to The Hive. The house has wooden cladding.
Walk along the path to the front door. Open the door, leave your shoes and worries by the door and come up the stairs and turn right.
