6:30-6:35: Entering (5 mins)

6:35-6:40: Opening circle (5 mins)

  • We open the circle by setting an intention in our mind for this session. “ With one heart and one mind there is no judgment here, no hate, no intention of changing anyone or who we are. This circle is a confidential space of attentive listening,learning, caring and love” 1 min

6:40-6:50: Quick Introductions (10 mins)

  • Raise your hand, i will make a list of the order and that will be the order of turns for the night, you can always pass or go later

  • Name, pronouns, one word that describes your feelings about the holidays


6:50-6:55: Access Rider/Community Agreement (5 mins) 


6:55-7:05: Storytelling Warmup (8 min) 

  • Create a holiday story together

  • Everyone says one line, and continues the story…

  • We will go by the order in the chat

  • Jasper and Jet begin as an example

  • Does everyone understand?


7:05-7:35: Check-in (30 mins) 

  • 2 min/person (gentle reminder)

  • How have you been feeling lately?

  • How was the storytelling activity for you?

  • What is one thing you hope we talk about tonight?


7:35-7:45: BREAK (music) (10 mins)

7:45-8:25: Whiteboard/Sensory Self Care Kit (40 mins)

  • Q’s based on what suggested

  • Share the objects of things that you would like to have in your sensory self care kit for the holidays

  • Examples: What are some good coping skills you can share with the group? How do you navigate neurotypical expectations? Is there anything you’re looking forward to about the holidays? Where/who can you ask for support during the holidays?


8:00-8:10: Mindfulness/movement (5 min)

8:25-8:30: Closing (5 mins)

  • One word and a gesture: what resource are you taking with you into the holidays?


*** We have a list of mental health and shelter resources for Toronto on hand every class and this can be provided to you. If you wish to add resources from other parts of Canada and the World let us know! 🌎


Registration Details

🌈This is a Pay What You Can group. It is suggested that participants pay $10 for the event. Your contributions would go towards equipment and staffing costs. Donations are always welcome and appreciated 😻.

Technical Details

  • To Sign in Zoom Click on the link in your registration confirmation email. There is nothing to install
  • If you don't want to use your mic or cam, you can use the chat feature and the group 

Group Norms & Policies

  • Find a quiet and private space in your home for the meeting
  • Mute your microphone when it is not your turn to share
  • Headphones with a mic are ideal for other members to hear you
  • Have your camera focus on your face
  • Close all applications on your device and put the phone on silent to reduce distractions
  • If you need to eat during the meeting, please do so discreetly (remember the camera is focused on your face) and refrain from eating when it is your turn to speak
  • Make sure your background is free of obscene language/graphics if you are on cam
