Grab your wellies (or some sturdy boots) and join us at our sanctuary, home to over 200 rescued farmed animals including pigs, sheep, chickens, goats, cows and more!

Join us for a guided tour of our beautiful 92-acre site, where you’ll discover our habitat development projects and meet some of our friendly animals up close. As you explore, you’ll hear their inspiring rescue stories, learn about their unique personalities, and experience the joy of connecting with the animals who call our sanctuary home.

Our tours last approximately 2 hours and are perfect for visitors of all ages, making it an ideal experience for families, animal lovers, and anyone eager to learn more about the incredible work we do to give these animals a second chance at life.

What's included:

  • Tours begin in our Visitor & Education Room, where you’ll receive a warm introduction to our charity, its mission, and the incredible work we do to give farm animals a safe and loving home.

  • Next, we’ll take a leisurely stroll across our beautiful sanctuary, exploring some of our exciting habitat development projects along the way. You’ll visit the Goodheart Home for Rescued Hens and our Pig Barn & Pig Woodland. You'll also be able to see our goats enjoying their new Goat Village.

  • As we journey across the sanctuary, you’ll have the chance to meet many of our friendly animals up close, including cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, goats, and more. You’ll hear their heart-warming rescue stories, learn about their unique personalities, and discover just how intelligent and special farm animals truly are.

  • To round off your visit, why not stop by our mini gift shop? Here, you can browse our official Goodheart merchandise, including clothing, homeware, and even adoption packs - so you can take home a little keepsake from your visit and continue supporting our mission.

Our Ethos:

  • Unlike farm parks or petting zoos, our ethical animal experiences are designed with the wellbeing of our animals in mind. They are never forced to interact with visitors and always have the space to move away if they choose.

  • The sanctuary is the animals’ home above all else. We encourage visitors to act calmly and sensibly, allowing the animals to feel safe and build trust with you. This ensures that both animals and visitors can truly connect in a respectful way.

  • We have a strict no breeding policy, so you won’t find activities like “watching lambs being born”. Instead, we focus on celebrating all our animals, including the elderly ones, and believe every animal deserves kindness and respect.

  • All our animals have a lifelong home with us, so unlike farms, there’s no need to worry about what happens to them as they age. Our tours and experiences offer a unique chance to see animals living as they should – with plenty of space to roam and the freedom to express their natural behaviours.

  • Every penny of your visit (minus platform fees, of course) goes directly to our charity, helping cover essential costs like animal feed, vet bills, and important operational expenses.

FAQs

Will you be adding more 2025 weekend dates?
Yes! We’ll be adding more weekend dates around July, so be sure to bookmark this page and check back soon. You can also subscribe to our newsletter here to be the first to hear when new weekend dates are released.

What should I wear/bring?
Please bring appropriate footwear (e.g. wellies or walking boots) as we will be walking through long grass and over uneven terrain. Please also prepare for all weather conditions, by bringing waterproofs/sun cream where appropriate.

Which animals will I be able to meet?
As part of our Sanctuary Tours, you'll get to spend lots of time with our resident cows, sheep, pigs, goats, and chickens, as well as meeting our ponies. You'll also get to see our geese, turkeys, and rabbits!

Do you accept walk-ins?
No. All visits must be pre-booked, and only the number of people listed on your ticket(s) are allowed to attend. If you bring additional guests who have not been pre-booked, unfortunately they will be turned away.

Can I bring my dog?
Because our tours involve close contact with our animals and significant time spent around them, we’re unable to allow dogs on any of our tours or experiences. For enquiries about service dogs, please email visit@goodheart.org.uk.

Who are the tours suitable for?
Our tours involve walking across fields, through woodland, and over rough and uneven tracks, and so may not be suitable for pushchairs, wheelchair users or those unsteady on their feet. If you would like to book a more accessible experience, please email visit@goodheart.org.uk and we'll be happy to arrange a visit tailored to your needs. Anyone who is or believes they might be pregnant, will not be able to interact with any of our sheep or goats due to health and safety.

Is there anything I need to make you aware of before you attend?
All tours and experiences involve close proximity to animals, so please let us know if you have any allergies or phobias. If you would like to meet your adopted or sponsored animals, please let us know in advance so we can try to arrange this. Please note, we will do our best to accommodate requests of this kind, but sometimes animals are not feeling sociable on the day and we must respect that. For your safety, we recommend that pregnant visitors avoid close contact with farm animals, as some may carry infections that can be risky during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, please contact us before your visit so we can help you plan a safe and enjoyable experience.

I have a Gift Voucher, how do I redeem it?
To redeem a voucher, enter the code on your voucher in the promo code box at checkout. If you have questions about your gift voucher, please email info@goodheart.org.uk and we'll be happy to help.

Do you have a café?
We don’t have a café on site, but we’d be happy to recommend some great places nearby for delicious vegan food. Just ask a member of our team on the day, or feel free to email us in advance at info@goodheart.org.uk.

In the unlikely event that your experience is cancelled due to events outside out control, you will be issued a refund or offered the opportunity to transfer your booking to another date.
