A richly Romantic programme for voice, cello and piano, bringing together Dvořák, Grieg and Brahms.
Dvořák’s tender Songs My Mother Taught Me sits alongside Grieg’s beautiful song Zur Rosenzeit, while the cello takes centre stage in two major Romantic works: Grieg’s passionate Cello Sonata in A minor and Brahms’s deeply expressive Cello Sonata in E minor, Op. 38.
Warm, lyrical and full of sweeping melody — music of memory, longing and song, for a March lunchtime at Goodworth House.
