Description
Heath Trail Bike Camp present The Bishop's Way, shifting overnight all-inclusive mountain bike/gravel bike events into a whole new gear. Starting on the ouskirts of Reading, Berks, you'll follow the route taken by Bishops of Winchester past as they travelled to their far flung parishes, and ride 90 miles over 2 days through Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire following a GPX route.
The ride is self supported, but passes through plenty of villages where you can buy food and snacks or visit cafes and pubs to keep you sustained. If you haven't discovered the joys of bikepacking with all your kit yet, then no worries, we're introducing an optional extra of camp kit porterage too.
Friday 11 April: (Optional extra) Camp or bivi overnight at the start. There's on site parking and toilets plus food shops and pubs nearby. The mainline station is 3 miles away.
Saturday 12 April: Arrive at the start from 7.30am, there's ample parking. Sign in and to be ready to leave at 9.30am, then follow our GPX route through 50 miles of the best heath and trails along the Bishop’s Way to our woodland overnight stop. Sign in, set up your tent, bivi or hammock in the woods or grassy glades, then enjoy the (all included) food & drink in the marquee (vegetarian & vegan options available), relax and socialise around the fire pit especially extended to allow for social distancing. There'll be portaloos and water available. If you've opted for porterage your kit will be waiting for you when you arrive.
Sunday 13 April: After breakfast (included), pack up, sign out then follow a different 40 mile route back to the start, where the team will welcome you back at sign in with a bag of goodies.
You'll receive regular event updates including what you'll need in the way of kit, tips to get the most out of the event.
Final Instructions full information & the GPX will be emailed to riders 1 week before the event.

Terms and Conditions of entry to this event, please read:
You agree agree that you are physically capable of riding the event and do so entirely at your own risk.
You confirm that the bike and equipment you're
riding is in good working order and agree to wear a properly adjusted
hard shell bike helmet at all times whilst riding the event.
Payment of the Event Entry Fee to the Mountain Bike Sport Association (MBSA) does not include any insurance protection for an accident to, the sickness of or the negligence to or of any individual participant. Any accident or injury caused your action will be your full responsibility. You are responsible for having your own insurance protection for your participation in the ride.
MBSA will offer you a full refund of your entry fee if the event has to be postponed or cancelled. MBSA
will not be liable for any other costs incurred by you in
association with the delay, alteration, postponement, abandonment,
curtailment or cancellation for whatever reason.
Apologies, but if you later find you cannot attend then we can't issue refunds or transfer your entry to another rider at this time.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse an entry, at
any time and from any person, without giving a specific reason why they
have done so.
