We are back at Kulturlagret in Gothenburg with the classic of megagames Watch the Skies. We haven't played this since before the pandemic and we have quite a few regular players who have never played this genre-defining game. With a lot of requests to re-visit this game - here we are!

Set on modern-day Earth, players take on the roles of national governments in the form of leaders, diplomats, military and scientists – each navigating diplomacy, crisis management, world economy, technological research, and public perception as unexplained phenomena unfold across the planet. Can your team lead humanity through this time of uncertainty, or will nuclear chaos reign?

Jim Wallman designed this genre-defining game, which features strategic negotiation, coordination, and a lot of creativity. Whether you're a returning player or completely new to megagames, Watch the Skies offers an exciting and welcoming experience for all!

The game is designed with the real world in mind, usually with some humor as the main "coping mechanism".

You play in a team of four players in one of the following G8 nations: Brazil, China, France, India, Japan, Russia, the UK, and the USA. We will add more nations if the game sells out.

There is also the exciting opportunity to play the Global News Network and report the events as they unfold.

There is an Alien team too, but we don't talk about them.

You don't need to be a full team to sign up - we will assign you to a team and role. If you sign up as a team you'll be guaranteed to play as a team. We try to get people their first choices on nations, but for this game we will use sign-up priority, meaning that the quicker you sign up the more likely you are to get the team you're after.

We will try to the best of our ability to assign you to a role and team using the following preferences:
1. People you want to play with
2. Team you want to play in
3. Role you want to play

If you sign up as a team you are guaranteed to be on the same team, hopefully one of your top choices.

Team choices: Aliens, Press, Brazil, China, France, India, Japan, Russia, the UK, and the USA.
Role choices: Leader (President, Prime Minister), Foreign Minister, Military Leader, Scientist.
