DROP IN & DANCE! - Community Workshops

Dancing and skateboarding - two different worlds with a shared understanding of how physical rigor and risk connect us to ourselves and each other. Whether on wheels or on your feet, intentional movement let us express ourselves, see the expression of others, and build safe spaces for that expression.

Join Jennifer Mabus, Artistic Director of Grackle Dance Collective, for an exploration of modern dance basics, storytelling, and collaborative movement creation. Come as you are. No dance experience necessary - just an open mind and a willingness to try new things! Together, we'll discover new ways to be in our bodies, support each other, and share our stories through movement. 

Open to skateboarders and dancers of all levels! Workshops will be open-level and beginner-friendly - no prior experience with skateboarding or modern dance needed.

Meet us at 4DWN for mindful movement and stick around after to enjoy the weekly Grill n Chill Wednesdays- skating, games, music, food, and more. Attend just 1 or be there for them all - show up how YOU want!

Workshop participants are also invited to be part of the final performances of Shred!  We want YOU to take the stage- share your skateboarding skills and tell your story! Together, we'll highlight the incredible community of 4DWN! *

Performance participation is entirely optional. Performance participants must be available for short rehearsals on June 8 (evening) and June 18 (evening), and at least one of 2 performances: June 20 (evening) and June 21 (afternoon).
