Graffham is generally regarded as one of the county’s most photogenic, unspoilt and archetypal villages, nestling in the lee of one of the highest points of the South Downs and with its population of only around 500 today forming a vibrant community,
It has long held a reputation for punching well above its weight in the fields of the arts, craftwork, music, writing and gardening. Across the centuries, many of Britain’s best known exponents in these fields have called the village home.
Its festival, held in recent times every two years, is a way for its community today to show off its talents and enjoy performances by noted visitors. This year’s 10-day extravaganza will be its first since before the pandemic.
