Level 1 Award in Practical Horticulture

*Please note this is the first of a series of 8 sessions, please sign up if you are able to attend all the sessions.

The City & Guilds practical course is designed to build technical skills for anyone who is thinking about working as a gardener or who wants to enhance natural food production for the home environment. Participants will study in our community garden in South Kilburn with a blend of classroom learning and practical tasks. 

On two of the learning days the sessions will be held at OrganicLea's market garden near Chingford so that learners can experience a market garden setting. Travel support will be organised for these days.

The course is run in partnership with ‘Go Grow with Love’ and 'OrganicLea'.

Learners will have a 1 hour lunch break at each session.

Facilitator: Sandra Salazar (Founder of Go Grow with Love)

Sandra Salazar D'eca is a *ComeUnity* farmer and founder of GoGrowWithLove C.I.C, an indigenous, melanin rich women-led organisation. With
over a decade of experience, Sandra has been instrumental in designing and delivering food-growing projects that teach food sovereignty in
schools and community projects. Her initiatives, such as 'Women Leading with the Land', focus on empowering women of African and
Caribbean heritage to become SOILSISTARS by and develop skills in land cultivation, food production, and enterprise skills. Sandra has trained and worked at OrganicLea, Living Under One Sun, and is a founding member of Black Rootz.

Location: Granville Rec community garden, NW6 5AR (or Granville Road Play Area on google maps).

OrganicLea, Hawkwood Plant Nursery, E4 7UH for the 4th July and 8th August.
