A full weekend of amazing Americana music brought to you by Barko Waltz, Blueroomess and Grateful Nights.
Friday is a night of original music featuring Barko Waltz (Detroit/Argentina) and Blueroomess (Barcelona/Chicago).
Barko Waltz is a multi-instrumentalist and a singer songwriter born in Argentina, raised in Detroit and living in Barcelona since 2015. His unique upbringing has resulted in his unique musical style- a timeless variety of classy and classic rock and roll that sounds like a rootsy version of Beck mixed in with the Kinks and a touch of Captain Beefheart, yet still strangely modern. His deep love of folk, blues and all things Americana is evident in all of his original compositions, mixed with cryptical, thoughtful lyrics that draw you in and keep you wondering.
Blueroomess is a folk/roots band from Barcelona composed of musicians with long careers and diverse origins. Their music has a vintage sound; the clear influence of American roots music is immediately noticeable. Upon deeper listening an inviting mix of folk, country, and blues emerges, combined with the laid back style of the Tulsa sound, and the strength and dynamism of skiffle. The band was founded by singer Donna Lee and guitarist John Married, and features Grateful Nights founder Aaron Feder on pedal steel and guitar.
Saturday and Sunday features Barcelona's Grateful Nights, playing two nights of their favorite Grateful Dead music. This Barcelona based band has headlined festivals across Europe, including Eyes of the Algarve and Playing in the Band, and band founder Aaron Feder has played with Grateful Dead collaborator Bob Bralove, Phil Lesh band members Scott Law and Ross James, and Grammy Award winners Eric Krasno and Peter Rowan, in addition to multiple tours with Chicago's Terrapin Flyer.
