AI is taking the world by storm, bringing about deep transformation in the way we work. Knowledge workers are mostly using Large Language Models (LLMs) to augment their capabilities and their capacity, as individuals. They are able to process large amounts of data and information in a very short period of time, which allows them to make better decisions, individually. At the back of this augmentation, knowledge workers are also creating more and more automations that reduce their time spent in mundane tasks, or rather, it allows them to carry out tasks that previously were too time consuming.

Despite these advancements, the deployment of gen AI has focused on empowering individuals rather than enhancing collective intelligence or true teamwork. Today, we see teams of augmented individuals rather than augmented teams. While AI can boost personal productivity, it currently has limited applications in fostering genuine collaboration within and across teams. In areas where collaboration and knowledge sharing are essential, such as complex problem-solving, or aligning on long-term strategies, AI’s impact remains nascent. We are still figuring out how to leverage AI not only as a tool for individual efficiency but as a cohesive force that can enhance the collective performance of teams.

Join us in this online event to look into how AI can help our teams and our projects. We will look into the why and the how. We will get a bit technical, but no prior AI engineering knowledge is required.

What's the agenda?

  1. We will hear an update on what is going on in the world of AI in general and LLMs in particular.
  2. We will go into conversation using participatory formats and breakout rooms, so we can also get to know each other.
  3. We will hear on how we can use LLMs to improve the way we form teams and improve our collaboration
  4. We will go back into conversation before checking out

The main objective of this event is to come out with a picture of the world of AI right now, as well as doing some sense making around how this revolution can help us connect, collaborate and work better together.

Hosts

Lucas Lorenzo Peña

Lucas is a software engineer, creative technologist, and design educator. He has an academic background and publications in human-computing interaction, cognitive science, and creative philosophy with AI. His industry experience ranges from collaborations with small teams on physical installations to R&D teams and institutions on digital experiences and platforms. He is the founder & principal of his own creative technology AI agency, Traverser.
