Welcome! Please, kick off your shoes, bring your attention to the mat - our space of experience, discovery and practice - and s-t-r-e-t-c-h what is possible in your interactions with other humans.

Come and see! Leadership and questions are everywhere in our groups - if we know how to look. Come and listen! Silence speaks louder than words, talk is never cheap, and we can always find the words (with a little help from our friends). Come and feel! When we engage emergence and complexity, we discover flows of affect from one moment to the next. Where will we go together? What will be made possible?

About this monthly space

• On the first Tuesday of every month, we'll spend 90 minutes together experiencing Liberating Structures (or other facilitation methods), unpacking what is made possible together.

• You want to foster happier, more innovative and engaged groups of diverse humans.
• You want to experience facilitation methods that engage emergence and integrate complexity (rather than flattening, ignoring, or pushing complexity away).

About us

An open-hearted iconoclast, Stefan Morales is an associate at Greaterthan, co-founder of INCOMMON professional services cooperative, and founder and principal of Working Together Consulting. Stefan specializes in organizational development, social design, digital facilitation and education, public engagement and strategic communication.

Susan Basterfield is a catalyst and coach who believes that awareness and discernment is the key to everything. She accompanies leaders and organizations on their transformational journeys.

This space is inspired by adrienne marie brown's framing of "Emergent Strategy", the diverse and broad library of Liberating Structures (LS) and by the the amazing community of LS practitioners who we've learned immensely from over the years.

• Emergent Strategy (ES) is an adaptive and relational leadership model that leans into complexity using relatively simple facilitation methods and interactions to create complex patterns, systems, and transformations (ES also has "a crush on biomimicry and permaculture" - we do too!)

• LS are easy-to-learn meeting structures, facilitation methods and ways of working together that enhance relationships, build trust and surface otherwise untapped ideas. They quickly foster lively participation in groups of any size, making it possible to truly include and unleash everyone. The LS community is an abundant "permaculture guild" of diverse and wonderful practitioners - folks who will join us from time to time ;)
