Introduction to Working with Source (FREE workshop)
How to realise big ideas
What does it take to realise an ambitious, purposeful vision with the participation of many people?
How can our creative collaborations embrace our full humanity, unleashing the full spectrum of feminine and masculine energy?
One vital key to success is understanding that every human endeavour has a natural role of one individual holding the "creative field" for realising the vision. The seminal organisational thinker, Peter Koenig, calls it The Role of Source. Working consciously with this role is a revolutionary way to develop the highly purposeful and participatory endeavours the world needs today.
“Now that I’ve encountered Peter Koenig’s thinking, I have better words for what I called ‘holding the space’, which includes channeling the organization’s purpose.” - Frederic Laloux, author of Reinventing Organizations.
Facilitated online workshop
This is a Facilitated Online Workshop, so come prepared to participate!
Who it's for
It's aimed at founders and other pioneers of participatory initiatives: Purpose-driven companies, non-profits, social movements, DAOs and open source projects. If there's an ambitious idea requiring participation of many people to bring something valuable into the world, this workshop will give you a level up in your ability to make it happen.
What we'll cover
In this two-hour session, you will learn how to
● see deeper than "organisations" and focus on the "creative field" beneath, where the artistry and creative process of realising a vision reside;
● ensure both feminine and masculine energy is fully unleashed and working powerfully together;
● understand the vital "role of source" - holding the space for the vision to emerge, but without old school, toxic, "power-over" dynamics;
● clear the way for everyone to live their personal calling in life whilst staying focussed on a collective endeavour they are part of;
● use the Source Compass to orient yourself when you find yourself in the role of source, artfully holding the tensions between working both top down and bottom up, and more.
Format
After covering some core principles at the start, the workshop will be highly interactive. There will be practical exercises, and you will have the chance to discuss your situation, stories and questions during break-outs as well as group Q&A.
You'll leave the workshop with new insight and greater clarity over your own personal next step in the initiatives you care about the most.
This session is an introduction to the topic. There will be future opportunities to deepen mastery in working with source.
Your hosts
Tom Nixon

Tom brings 20 years experience of the rollercoaster ride of being a founder from starting and growing a successful, progressive company, to exits, turnarounds and even closing a company altogether.
He is a coach to pioneering founders, author of the book "Work with Source: Realise big ideas, organise for emergence and work artfully with money", and the founder of Maptio - an online tool for organising without traditional management hierarchy.
Fanny Norlin

In Fanny Norlin’s exploration and practice of participatory leadership during the last ten years, she has seen the biggest breakthroughs emerge through the combination of working with source, coupled with understanding the dynamics of feminine and masculine leadership. In this workshop, based on the experience of applying these principles as a senior leader of one of the Nordics largest tech companies, Fanny will share fresh perspectives on how feminine and masculine leadership, through the lens of source, make businesses thrive in the participatory paradigm.
