It’s 1922 and you’re invited to town’s best kept-secret – Solanio’s Swinging Speakeasy – for a very special event: the auction of the infamous Shakespeare Solitaire.

This priceless diamond is rumoured to have been gifted to Wiliam Shakespeare by Queen Elizabeth I herself… but the jewel also carries with it a curse.. everyone of its owners has died in mysterious circumstances!

Just two weeks’ ago, the body of the Solitaire’s most recent owner – renowned actor Henry Lear - was discovered at a Guildford auction house. Tonight, his only daughter is seeking to sell it and rid the family of its terrible curse.

But will Mr Lear’s death be the end, or is it just the beginning?

This brain-teasing murder mystery evening is brought to us by the acclaimed Guildford Shakespeare Company. Founded in 2006 by Sarah Gobran and Matt Pinches who still lead the company, Guildford Shakespeare is an award-winning theatre company, seeking to create exceptional theatre in extraordinary places.
