Escape the Winter Chill: Evening Hatha Flow at The Great Green Barn 🔥
✨ Time: 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM
✨ Level: Beginners & General Level
Step out of the winter chill and into the rustic warmth of the Great Green Barn. Led by Stephanie Leonida, founder of Take Root Yogis, these intelligently curated Hatha Yoga flows are designed to help you unwind your body, soothe your nervous system, and invite compassionate self-connection.
With 10 years of dedicated practice and 200 hours of specialized trauma-informed training from the Yoga Therapy Institute, Stephanie structures each class to build comforting warmth and ease the stiffness that winter brings. We begin by generating gentle, progressive internal heat to warm the body against the winter cold before transitioning into deeply grounding, nervous system-soothing practices to prepare you for a restful night.
Who is this class for?
These sessions are perfect for beginners as well as those with a basic practice who are looking to progress safely and mindfully.
Please bring a mat, a rolled-up towel or blanket, and a cushion. Some spare blankets are available, and yoga blocks will be provided. Please also wear warm clothing for savasana (the resting pose at the end of class). Please note, the barn has underfloor heating.
What to expect from my trauma-informed approach:
- Autonomy over Performance: My teaching utilizes choice-focused language. I do not prescribe rigid shapes; instead, I invite you to explore movement at your own pace and write your own body’s story;
- Intelligent, Adaptive Sequencing: Grounded in a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and physiology, I fit the pose to the person—not the person to the pose;
- A Safe Space to Transition: Infused with therapeutic, safety-focused insights from experienced yoga therapists, this practice is an ethical, inclusive space designed to help you shift from a busy, active state into genuine, restful integration.
