BREAKING FREE FROM OCD
Treating OCD & Related Disorders using Acceptance & Commitment Therapy & Exposure Response Prevention
with Rachael DeKoning, LCMFT, LCAC
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders are frequently misunderstood and misdiagnosed, leading to treatment approaches that can unintentionally reinforce symptoms. This interactive workshop provides clinicians with a practical framework for treating OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard behavioral treatment, integrated with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to increase psychological flexibility and improve treatment engagement and outcomes.
Rachael DeKoning, with 8 years of specialized training and experience working with OCD and related disorders, will help participants move beyond theory through discussion, demonstrations, experiential exercises, techniques/interventions, and hands-on practice. Clinicians will learn how to conceptualize OCD through an ACT and ERP lens, develop effective exposure hierarchies, facilitate willingness rather than reassurance, and implement interventions that help clients reduce compulsions while building a values-driven life. The workshop will also address common OCD presentations, treatment barriers, and strategies for improving client motivation and adherence.
This two-part event will be held on November 11 (Part 1) and November 25 (Part 2), 2026 from 2:00-3:00 pm via Zoom. Your ticket covers both training dates.
Recommended price is $50. This pay-what-you-can training is made possible when participants contribute at a level that feels accessible and sustainable for them. Thank you for helping support this model.
