Community Wildflower Hike
Join the Greenacres Education and Research teams for a guided hike through the forest trails at the Greenacres Lewis Township campus as we search for southern Ohio’s spring wildflowers. Many of these woodland plants bloom for only a short time each year, making them easy to miss if you do not know where or when to look.
Along the way, participants will learn how these early spring flowers thrive in the forest ecosystem and why their brief blooms play an important role in the landscape. While we cannot predict exactly which species will be in bloom, a peaceful walk through the woods and the chance to discover seasonal wildflowers make for a rewarding morning outdoors.
