Summer School – Bite-Size ASB Training Sessions
We are running a series of bite-size sessions covering some of the key aspects of ASB casework.
Each session lasts 90 minutes and provides an introduction to essential processes, including triage, risk assessment, investigations, and managing expectations.
Who is it for? These sessions are ideal for those new to ASB or as a refresher. You can attend individual sessions or book the full series.
Session times and dates
5th August - Triage and Assessment - Understanding what ASB is and how to assess incoming reports to determine if they are ASB or not.
12th August - Managing Expectations - Communicating clearly with all parties, setting realistic expectations, and using tools such as action plans to provide clarity on what will happen and when.
19th August - Risk Assessments - This session covers taking a harm-centred approach to risk assessment, including effective communication and identifying vulnerability, and how this informs response and decision-making. Delegates will also consider how existing risk assessment templates may need to be adapted in light of forthcoming legislative changes introducing a statutory requirement for risk assessments when applying for Respect Orders, Youth Injunctions, and Housing Injunctions
26th August: Investigations - Gathering relevant information, conducting interviews, and maintaining an impartial, unbiased approach.
Who is it delivered by
These sessions will be delivered by Katy Anderson, a highly experienced qualified trainer and ASB practitioner.
